Cool Openoffice installed but could not be run?

I installed it with synaptic pkg mgr, and also download the latest version and unzip and run sudo dpkg -i *.deb,
I saw that it was installed successfully,
but it does not appear in Application Menu,
from terminal when I type soffice, it is libreoffice that launched.

Is OOOo can nont be installed side by side with Libreoffice?

Please help...........

I have run it side by side with LibreOffice, but OOo was already installed and I installed LO from the *.deb file. I haven't tried it the reverse order.

Did you try opening one of the components, say by typing "oowriter"?

If you installed productivity suite is only transitionaal & meantto aide in replacing LibreOffice.
Also if you install both since they have the same path is there a way to rename something like
soffice1
soffice2
?

during installation, everything is done automatically, i was not asked to choose the path.
in /usr/ i can't find the ooo folder.

In Linux, I need use "ooffice" to open the bundle and pick my application to use.
Whereas in Windows, I use "soffice" to open the bundle and pick my application to use
maybe it is ooffice command?

My LO (v. 3.x) in Ubuntu is also in /opt.

My OO (v. 3.x) on CentOS is in /usr.

Why not enter "/opt/ooo-dev3/program/soffice"?

You can also create a link (called, for example, "openoffice") that's in your $PATH, so that it can be launched like a normal program:

Code:
ln -s /opt/ooo-dev3/program/soffice /usr/local/bin/openoffice

will try it, i need to enter sudo to launch it, better.

/usr/local/bin/openoffice: 117: /opt/ooo-dev3/program/openoffice.bin: not found

Are you sure you ran the exact command that I wrote, and did not change it a little?

Also, post the output of:

Code:
ls -l /opt/ooo-dev3/program
