OpenOffice install query: no such "soffice" found

i got this install guide from openoffice.org

Quote:
last part :
8. Install .tgz packages with either command installpkg or pkgtool. For example,
installpkg openoffice.org-base-2.0.0-1.i586.tgz. Repeat as
necessary to install all the packages.
9. Use rpm2tgz to convert the desktop integration package and install.
10. Optionally install java runtime environment (j2re).
11. Install any language packs needed for OpenOffice.org (also converted to .tgz format
with rpm2tgz utility)
12. Exit from administrator (root) shell with command 'exit'
13. Now you can run OpenOffice with the command
/opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/soffice.
BUT when i check the .tgz package that is to be installed (installpkg -warn) command. . i DID NOT SAW any path to/program/soffice. . .

the result :

Quote:
icey@darkstar:/opt/openoffice.org2.2/program$ ls
classes/ libhwp.so libswd680li.so libswui680li.so libwpft680li.so swriter*
when i run : swriter at the prompt :

icey@darkstar:/opt/openoffice.org2.2/program$ swriter
./swriter: line 4: /opt/openoffice.org2.2/program/soffice: No such file or directory
./swriter: line 4: exec: /opt/openoffice.org2.2/program/soffice: cannot execute: No such file or directory

You didn't install all the packages. The procedure to install OO in slackware from rpms (I guess you use slack from the fact that you use installpkg) is as follows:
1. Extract the downladed OOo-version.tar.gz
2. Enter the directory created
3. Run rpm2tgz *.rpm
4. Run installpkg *.tgz
