Angry OpenOffice: I want to use it in Portuguese

Hi!

I installed OpenOffice on my Gentoo System, I set the language to Portuguese, the currency to Brazilian, EVERYTHING portuguese or brazilian, but I CANT type accents!!!! Man, what the hell is that?! And I can't find reliable information on OpenOffice site that explains this problem... Maybe I have to set something like LANG=pt_BR (I cant remember because I never understood that)...

Anyway, gimme some light on this one, please... I want to understand this language settings...

C ya!!
