Openoffice calc

how to I make a sum of hours spend in OpenOffice2.0 calc?

Let say that I was working from 08:00 - 16:00 then I would have worked for 8 hours. doing 16:00 - 08:00 gives me 08:00 hours. Now I want to sum all hours worked that month. If I then sum all the days of the month it wont give me the sum hours worked but something else strange.
How do I sum up hours?

Can someone give me a hand with this one please?

For one month, you should only need three columns.
Col A: start time
Col B: end time
Col C: calculation (end minus start equals hours worked)
At the end of Col C, a sum formula to sum the hours in Col C. Work increments in full hours should not be a problem, but if there are partial hours, the formula becomes more complex, using conditional statements in the formula.

Do the same for each month of the year.
