openoffice and firefox several instances

Hi

When opening files with openoffice on debian 4.0 (and other distroes) everythings fine when opening the first file by just doubleclicking. The next file though (or just by opening calc or other part of openoffice) makes openoffice generate the annoying launch feedback in kde for a long time. same thing if trying to open more than one instance of firefox. It just seems like something not configured right. other kde apps have no problems. I think Suse has solved this partly, but why is'nt it possible to make such small but very annoying thing work right?

The problem may be whether you are calling the binary for each application or if you are calling a script. I have found that Firefox and OOo have scripts which can prevent multiple instances in a given X session. Set your file associations to run the specific binary file required for each file type instead of running a script.
