Openoffice 2.0.1 debian etch database table editing problem
When I try and edit a database in openoffice base, when I click on the tables tab I recieve the following error. I have looked and the hsqldb engine is installed. I installed the server for it but that didnt do anything
com.sun.star.sdbcx.comp.hsqldb.StorageFileAccess.
any ideas what im missing to get it to work. I know I could just use openoffice direct from openoffice.org but I would prefer to use it from the debian repos. Im running debian etch.
Thanks in advance
Michael

I checked out Base briefly, and found it to be not ready for prime time yet ... I hope it moves forward quickly because a small, GUI oriented, self-contained DBMS for Linux would fill a gaping void. If you're into messing around, you might check out ReKall. It's only a GUI front end, so it needs, Postgresql, MySQL, XBase, or some other DBMS to run, but it's fairly mature.

Well, the current version of Rekall comes bundled with
Xbase, and xbase is conceptionally NOT a Client/Server
model kind of thing, so Rekall pretty much *IS* stand-alone
now ... ;}
Cheers,
Tink
