OpenOffice 1.1 writer

Does anyone know where OOwriter saves it's temporary files when I'm writing my document? I had to write this paper on something and OO chrased for no reason and I forgot to save. And now I can't find any OO temps.

tnx.-

It would probably be somewhere inside /home/user/.openoffice

There is a /usr/backup directory in it, but since I don't use the program at all, there's nothing there at the moment. Maybe you could check.

Have a look in ~/OpenOffice/user/backup

Check out the 'paths' subsection in your preferences (Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org -> Paths). On my system, the default seems to be /tmp

OO 1.1 help section specifies that the "Automatic Backup Copies" are stored in {userinstall}/user/backup

Therefore in my system where OO is installed in my home directory the files are:

/home/iain/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/user/backup

Hope this helps

Mine defaulted to the /tmp directory and I found my newly created files there.

Cheers,
Brad

Thanks all. When I started the app for the first time I should have checked ALL the options. So checking the "Autosave every [min]" would help. Had to do it again. =/
