Openoffice 1.1.2 icons are Suddenly Ugly!

OK, it's a small cosmetic thing--but my OO icons seemed to have gone from nice gnome-like to a very ugly small generic OO type. This seemed to coincide with an uninstall followed by a reinstall of OO 1.1.2 on Slackware 10. Changing themes does nothing to the OO document, spreadsheet of presentation files icons. Is there a way to revert to the previous icons automatically? The previous, more attractive ones reside in the existing mimetype files for the various themes so it appears that the new OO install has somehow bypassed the use of the nicer icons.
