The 17,000 Fedora packages can still be installed. For many years.
In some months, the current links to package install will stop.
Then you can make new baseurl's in /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora* ,,,
pointing to the old archive ...

http://archives.fedoraproject.org/pu...ux/updates/14/ ..
But there are no security updates any more.
So you may consider installing Fedora 17, or a long term supported
version of Fedora 12 : CentOS 6 / Scientific Linux SL6.
