Opening .rar files in Fedora14
 

Hi,
How to open .rar files in fedora14
I tried "yum -y install rar" but it is showing No package rar available.

Fedora "rar" is in e.g. the atrpms repo.

But : Fedora 14 is unsupported : No more rar packages with yum.

A Fedora 12 / EL6 package should be usable ..
32bits : rar-3.8.0-1.el6.rf.i686.rpm
64bits : rar-3.8.0-1.el6.rf.x86_64.rpm

rar package is working now.
Please suggest what should I do now reagrding above quote. I have already installed various softwares on Fedora14.

The 17,000 Fedora packages can still be installed. For many years.
In some months, the current links to package install will stop.
Then you can make new baseurl's in /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora* ,,,
pointing to the old archive ...

http://archives.fedoraproject.org/pu...ux/updates/14/ ..

But there are no security updates any more.
So you may consider installing Fedora 17, or a long term supported
version of Fedora 12 : CentOS 6 / Scientific Linux SL6.
