Opening page in text editor in Midori or other browser.

I've used Opera for many years, mostly for one simple feature that I find invaluable: when I hit Ctl-F3, the page opens IN THE EDITOR OF MY CHOICE (nedit).

I run a few websites, so HMTL page creation is a regular activity, and this speeds things up so much compared to other browsers that I can no longer do without it.

The latest Opera doesn't run on my Debian 8.2 LXDE system and I'm looking at alternatives.

Does anyone know if this feature is available in other browsers? I'm thinking that Midori might be a viable alternative.

In Firefox, enter about:config into the address bar.

Then toggle view_source.editor.external to true and set view_source.editor.path to the path of your external editor (in my case: /usr/bin/kate).

From now on, pressing ctrl-u will open the source html of the page in your external editor.

Great, thanks. Figured Ff should allow this but had never come across the setting.
