opening ogg files in nautilus

When I open ogg files from nautilus (using xmms as default player) I am told the file extension (.ogg) doesn't match the type indicated by file contents which is mp3 (I'm running gnome 2.6). So i attempted adding the .ogg extension to mp3 mime filetype, to no avail. Then I deleted ogg mime type keeping .ogg extension listed under mp3 again not solving the problem.

The problem can be partially solved by renaming file with .mp3 as extension, xmms launches but fails to play (I presume because not identfying filetype correctly). Opening file through xmms works fine so how can I get round this, and are other people experiencing this, if so is it a bug or a configuration problem.

p.s These ogg files have ID3 headers, which if I remember correctly aren't expected in ogg files, could this be causing nautilus to incorrectly identify the files???

cheers
