opening files w/ apps
I just recently installed linux for the first time. And Im a little hazey on how to open exe files I keep getting this message
Nautilus has no installed viewer capable of displaying...such and such file usually exe files. \Can anyone help me out? |
Linux don't have native support for exe files. If you want to install an exe (windows) application, use wine (windows emulator) or even better, get the linux equivalent for that program

"no installed viewer capable of displaying...."
I have just installed Linux Mandrake 9.1, and have the same problem whenever I try to install any rpm package. If I use the gnome interface I get "Nautilus has no installed viewer capable of displaying -programname-.rpm. Makes using Linux a bit difficult if you can use any apps!
Thanks, Don:confused: |
