The pc configuration was not changed since then.
I always try the failsafe version too.
Though I found the myOS linux distribution for opengl developments:
http://www.geocities.com/ze_aks/myos.html
The main point of this distro is that it is able to run X with XGL and without any opengl magic. This second option allows to run the failsafe version of glitch. I need to notice that for both X-es myOS asks what driver to load VESA or firegl. Since I have an ATI graphics card, the 'original' driver suits very well for me.
Actually this could be the reason I have problems in Fedore and Ubuntu:
AIGLX doesn't support the firegl driver, only the radeon. I should do some reading about installing XGL on AIGLX integrated Fedora Core or Ubuntu.
My desktop pc has an Nvivia card, that should work, but it doesn't, still no idea.

I can run it on Ubuntu 8.10 with Nvidia ( FX 5200 )
and some other Linux's too ( also FX 5200 )
It is not very stable and looks different in Ubuntu,
PCLinuxOS and Slackware 12.1 .
Slackware does best, and is the one that can compile
the glitch source.
Have you tried the "failsafe" package ??
