OpenGL steam error

Note that I am using MinLinux. I'M trying to launch Team Fortress 2 from Valve's Steam and I'M getting the following error.

Required OpenGL extension "GL_texture_compression_s3tc" is not supported. Please install S3TC texture support.

I checked my Synaptic Package Manager and I already have the following two packages installed when I enter s3tc into the text field of the SPM.

libtxc-dxtn-s2tc-bin
&
libtxc-dxtn-s2tc0

The only one listed as not installed was libtxc-dxtn-s2tc-dev

Any ideas? Thanks.

How don't know. It's not on my box. How do I find this out in Mint Linux?

run
Code:
lspci -vv
and look for the card in the output

the -vv option will list the card and the kernel mod used , hence the driver used

Try the new Catalyst 13.1 Legacy driver, it will work with that card and is fixing some things with Steam games: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...eon_linux.aspx

Thanks gusy. I updated the driver and TF2 is now playable. Albeit in a small window that is really agrivating the piss out of me.
