OpenAL Installation Help

I apologise if i seem rather inept, but i'm fairly new to Linux and this is a problem i can't apparently solve on my own. I have RedHat 7.3 with all available updates installed, and an Aureal Vortex2 based sound card. When attempting to install OpenAL per the instructions in the readme; i immediately encounter some trouble on the first command 'sh ./'. The 3 error messages are as follows:

' called without default to allow cross compiling'

' called without default to allow cross compiling' (yes a second warning of the same line)

' called without default to allow cross compiling'

Any and all suggestions/advice is welcomed.
