<Edit>
Well, I'll be darned...The openal-config file was in the Scorched tar file. Just had to untar the archive, copy the file to any directory, then run export OPENAL_CONFIG=/dir/to/openal-config. First time I've ever seen a slackbuild run into a problem of not finding a file that exists in the tar file, but eh, well, you learn something new every day, lol...
</edit>
I recently tried to install Scorched3D onto my slackware installation and I'm rather confused about this.
This is the error I get while installing it.
Code:
checking for OpenAL support... checking for openal-config... no
*** The openal-config script installed by OpenAL could not be found
*** Make sure openal-config is in your path, or set the OPENAL_CONFIG
*** environment variable to the full path to openal-config.
configure: error: *** Can't find the openal library. Try: http://www.openal.org/
Following the instructions at
http://slackbuilds.org/repository/12...es/Scorched3D/, I had installed all the deps, however when I searched the entire hd for openal-config, it doesn't exist. There is, however, openal-info.
In /usr/lib I do have these libraries...
Code:
libopenal.so libopenal.so.1 libopenal.so.1.7.411
I had searched through google dozens of times with difference searches, even went through the faqs and documentation at scorched3d website, as well as the forums and the openal website, also, and have not found anything on openal-config outside of some rpms that claim to have it...
Perhaps I overlooked something, but anyway, I figured I ought to ask...Anyone have any pointers on this?
Thanks in advance...
p.s. Version info...
Openal 1.7.411
Scorched3d 41.3
