open source time bank software

I have been looking for some software lately that could be used to do time banking. I'm told by others that the software to use is very pricy, which seems to be somewhat against the whole reason for running a time bank in the first place.

I was also informed that running one is a pretty much full time job, this also I fail to see a reason for, I'd have thought it could be done on a server so long as it was secured well, and the whole process could be automated.

However, I've yet to see online any open source software built for this purpose, has anyone here seen/heard of any?

I guess Time Banking is somewhat analogous to Linux distributions: some try to enlarge the audience, work on acceptance, start partnerships, improve stuff, some just say they do and others just don't care. Likewise a Time Bank could be anything from what's shared between friends or neighbors to something that starts in some small borough but soon expands across the city or even the region. So if an authoritative knowledgeable source says it is then you can think and say all you want but you won't be able to disprove that source unless you've actually given it your best shot.

I used to do some tests on a big name company's banking systems. They usually ran aix and had some very high redundancy levels. The reason for that was to help protect billion dollar transactions. Anyone with a few billion to trust would have to be talked into any new system.

Well, I only just really started looking, I've been distracted by the likes of bitcoin and ripple, and hadn't run across that list which is pretty extensive :O) I figured if there was some linux know how, someone here would know already, so I searched the forums and found no reference which surprised me.

I will take some time and sift through the list, thanks for unearthing it unSpawn!
