Open Source Replacement for Remote Web Workplace

Hey all,

I have a client that loves the Remote Web Workplace. This is M$ solution that allows users to connect from their home computers, through the M$ Small Business Server, to their work computers in the office. Here's some information so you know exactly what it is:

I need to find an open source equivalent to this as the client is also very interested in Linux.

I'm mainly interested in anything that is free and IS or APPEARS TO BE the most widely used package in this area; for the purposes of longevity and scalability. I'm also very interested in getting out from between the rock and the hard place :)

Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.

I am not sure it is exactly what you are looking for but VNC is a remote desktop application/server that can be run over ssh(for security). It does require a lot of bandwidth to run a 1440X900 desktop but if you drop the (remotely sent) desktop back to 640X480 it works pretty good. Setting the desktop and remote desktop resolution can be done separately (ie locally the machine is 1440X900 but remotely it is 640X480).
