Open source Maple equivalent

I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this.

What open source program is closest to the math software Maple?

I am used to the input language of Maple and would prefer if I didn't have to learn the Matlab or Mathematica language(s).

The only thing comparable that I know of is GNU Octave. But, as the linked page explains, the Octave language is similar to Matlab.
