open-source instant message web server

i'm looking for an open-source instant message web server, something like webmessenger from msn or something, basically i want to be able to have an on-line support service, does anyone know of something like this?

Jabber could be the thing perhaps? It's open source and extentable and there are web client available, so you can run your own server and everything.

You can use ircd, like bahamut from dalnet.
