Question open shared folders in ubuntu server from ubuntu.

Hello guys:
This is my situation. I am not an IT guy, I am just trying to do make ubuntu run on my own. A few weeks ago I installed Ubuntu server 11.04 and for now is running, I am able to open shared folder from windows and seems work ok. However, when I try to open the same folder from an ubuntu pc I am not able. It seems pretty easy but I am a little frustrated. I am able to connect to the server, even I can see the shared folder, which by the way does not have password because when installing the server I had difficulties setting the password, but that is another story.
Can someone of you have a little mercy and shed some light on how can I open the shared folder. By the way I thought would be easier running both on the same system.

Thank you in advance you all.

For purposes of clarification:

You installed Ubuntu server on one computer.
You have windows installed on a separate computer. You can access the Ubuntu server from windows.
You have another computer with Ubuntu and you can connect to the Ubuntu server but not open/access files?

What happens when you try to open the file from Ubuntu?
How did you configure the network for Ubuntu to Ubuntu?

Unhappy more info

Thank you for your reply.
I have installed ubuntu server on a separated computer and is running alone wired to a router which is wireless as well. I am able to access the shared folder wirlessly from any other windows computer, I just need to enter the username and I am able to w/r on this folder.
About the other question yes, I have 2 ubuntu computers and I can connect them in the same way, but I cannot open/access shared folder. On the ubuntu computer I can see my server, the shared folder(s) is just that I cannot open it.
I was thinking about the combination of username, domain is not entered correctly.

Thank so much you again.

Here is an update:
After further research I followed this procedure to share the folder "reports":

mkdir ~/mount

This will generate a directory called mount in your home folder. We’ll use it in the next command to mount the Samba share.

To actually mount the Samba share, use this command:

sudo smbmount // ~/mount -o username=caina,password=ghost

This will mount the shared directory “reports” on in the “mount” folder we just created in the client’s home directory.

Now I am able to read from my ubuntu shared folder, however I cannot write.

Any insight on how to fix this situation?

I just have solved this issue, now I am able to read, write and execute (rwx) from Ubuntu and Windows. Just as information to those who look for information about this topic, what I did was to configure manually the Samba configuration file. In the beginning I was using Webmin however it didn't work for me as I expected, maybe I didn't learn how to use Webmin. Instead I learned a little about linux file system, file permissions, set new user, some coding from terminal, and understanding how the samba configuration file works. For now I am not using webmin for this purpose.
Thank you to Yancek for the reply.
