Question open office update


hi,

Hi to all. I have open office 1.1(FC1).I want to update my Open office.But i have one problem that i do not have internet connection in my home but i can access from office from where i can download things...So downloading is not problem.Problem is what to download? and how to update my office.I am new to linux ?

Well, if you're using CentOS or any other distribution that uses yum, you can specify it to download to specific directory and not install.

Or you can grab the packages directly from the open office site, burn to cd or whatever and then install by those means.

only for use on fedora - which is rpm-based AFAIK and does not use "apt"

I there a similar way?

If you have Fedora Core 1 (FC1), I would suggest you update to something more modern. If, for example, you install Fedora 8 or 9, you'll get a recent version of OpenOffice in the process.

Holy crap, how did I miss that. Umm, yeah, FC1 is worst than running Red Hat 9.. hell, almost worst than running Red Hat 6.2..
