open office startup problem

when I try to run open office I get the message:

~$ ooffice
/usr/bin/ooffice: 3: /usr/lib/openoffice/program/ooqstart: not found.

I've tried to reinstall the whole suite and the quickstarter without a result...
what can I do to get it run again?

as you are running ubuntu all you need to do is in the top left corner of your desktop there is an icon. click it, scroll down until you see office, then click on writer. you are set.

if you are still getting errors, then do the following:

sudo apt-get remove openoffice.org --purge
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install openoffice.org

then try it again.

I have already tried to reinstall it before I started this thread. But still when I try to open the writer from the "programs/office" menu it gives me the same error also when I try spreadsheet.
