Open Office Install

I downloaded Open Office and unpacked the tarball. When I executed the setup file I get this on the screen:
glibc version:2.2.2
/tmp/sv002.tmp/setup.bin: error while loading shared libraries: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory.
There is the sv002.tmp directory but no setup.bin. I even reinstalled the OS and installed all the libraries. What do I need to do to get it install? Thanks

Well, the setup.bin probably got deleted when the error happened...but that's not important.

Check your /etc/ file, look at the paths listed there... Make sure it has at least these:

Run ldconfig as root and try again.

Then again, since you're using Mandrake, you can always search for RPMs which are much easier to install.
