Open office 2.0.0-139.i586 installation problem?????


i recently downloaded the open office 2.0.0-139.i586 from i installed all the files listed in it using the rpm command. i didnt get any errors during installation so i guess everything must have gone well.

iam not able to find the run command to launch the office application. i searched in /usr/bin and other folders as well. i just cudnt find it.

how do i solve this problem. iam using fc3.

thanks. i hope someone out there knows the solution.

Openoffice 2.0 installs to /opt/openoffice.org2.0/. Run /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/soffice.bin .

You should have installed the redhat menus rpm thats in the desktop-integration subdirectory of the OOo RPMS directory.

Thanks rjwilmsi. that solved the problem but iam still wondered why it didnt get integrated with the desktop. i mean it shud have put the icons in the application menu.
