open iSCSI initiator timeout settings

Hi All,

I am accessing a NetApp Lun from a CentOS 5 host using iSCSI(Open iSCSI). I am bit confused about the below values

node.conn[0].timeo.noop_out_interval = 5
node.conn[0].timeo.noop_out_timeout = 10

My Understanding is,

node.conn[0].timeo.noop_out_timeout = 10 means if the connectivity to the filer fails for more than 10 seconds, then iSCSI initiator will fail running commands and ask the SCSI layer to requeue them, i.e. iSCSI initiator will stop and shell will return on the Terminal.

is my understanding correct ?

I kept the same settings as above, I see shell getting returned only after 120 seconds. Why is this?

Please help me.

Regards,

Athreya VC
