Open FT for gift

when i run ./configure for gift-openFT-0.2.1.1 it complains that it cant find zlib-1.1.4 or higher. The thing is, I have actually installed zlib-2.1.1 without any errors. I think it might be looking in the wrong place.

Does anyone know how to get gift-openft to look in the right place?

If you know where zlib was installed (either /usr/lib or /usr/share/lib) then all you have to do is ./configure PKG_CONFIG_PATH='path to the file'.

Also make sure you have the corresponding -devel package for zlib.
