Only one software management tool is allowed to run at the same time

Hey.guys

I was installing a deb file,however how many times I tired,it showed"only one software management tool is allowed to run at the same time",the following reading is "Please close the other application e.g. 'aptitude' or 'Synaptic' first.""

BUt I am actually not installing any of them...

need help... thank you!

What distribution? debian, ubuntu..
there is another version running.
perhaps auto update

Thank you .. I have resolved this already,
I just input a command

which is sudo --configure -a

after this command has finished its job,it is OK now... thank you any way!!!!
