On the fly spell checking in firefox

Hi,

My firefox use to have the on the fly spell checking capability in text editing entries. But I loose it in my newly installed Debian lenny.

I've double checked that it is activated:

Edit > Preferences > Advanced > General > Browsing > Check my spelling as I type

How can I get it back? (I have the libgtkspell0 installed).

thanks

I like to have this plugin installed: http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/
But, I don't know if FF comes with this installed already now-a-days.

Are you using Firefox or Iceweasel? If you're using Firefox with Debian, you deserve whatever problems you get. I use Epiphany myself, but I know Iceweasel spell checking works fine.

Wow, strong words... anyway,

Iceweasel definately. Ref:

This is a "Linux Software" forum, and I was afraid that if I said Iceweasel, some people might not have a clue what it is...

Spell checking in Iceweasel works just fine. I can't type worth a crap and there are always lots of red underlined words.
