old question but no definitive answer (iptables and insmod)
I finally got a version of module-init-tools installed, 3.0pre8, but there are still some residual errors or failures that pop up. During boot-up, it says "iptables v1.2.7a: can't initialize iptables table filter: iptables who? (do you need insmod?)" Is this error due to something that I left out of the 2.6.1 kernel compilation? Also, when I installed module-init-tools, I did the "./configure --prefix=/" and it placed everything into /sbin. Is there anything that needs to be updated that I forgot to update? My method of installation went,
./configure --prefix=/ make moveold make make install I think everything worked out well because I can "/sbin/depmod (or lsmod, insmod, modprobe) -V and it reports that version 3.0 of mod-init-tools is installed. Is there a better location that I could've placed the module-init-tools? Thanks in advance folks truepatience RH9.0, 2.6.1 kernel |
