old alsa

would an old version of alsa work better for a soundblaster 16? because i cant get alsa 0.9.2 to see sb16 properly.

it instals but only cd and mic work but pcm does not

You did unmute with alsamixer did'nt you??

And you did run ./sndconfig ??
