i have truly grown to love linux....i dont think i could live without mandrake i use samba, i installed java platform and linux drivers and all kinds of stuff...But, how do install those cheesy little games that you have to compile...using the ./configure and make filke procedures....can anyone either explain the process to me or send me somwhere it is all explained, ? ty
However, the most important step has not been mentioned. You should first check to see if there are the files README and INSTALL. If they are present, you should read them. Often the INSTALL file contains a (very) expanded version of the above, but sometimes it doesn't. It is always worth checking before you install. At the very least you've wasted only a few minutes... at the very most you could save yourself a headache
