OK, I think I finally have a REAL question!

I have more or less brought my Redhat Linux 8 machine to a level where it represents the optimal workstation IMO and for what I need including all drivers specific to the hardware which I plan to keep for a while, along with all the apps I use for image processing such as USGS ISIS and others. I noticed the generic x86 support in newer kernels and so hope to apply the knowledge gleaned here on this topic to future mass-deployments of such modified imaging and multimedia terminals on a broader level, possibly to interested visitors of websites and forums I x. For the moment however, I look simply to establish a backup "image" or equivalent of this entire system as it is, possibly also to later ghost that over to a larger drive (80-gigs would be excellent at this point.)

Could anyone reading provide me with advice or guidance in this regard, even if just general links to follow? Knowing me Ill probably stumble unto something later and post it here when it comes to me if no one sees this until then.

Thanks in advance and for an excellent community resource for Linux questions.
