Eh.. you posted your second message 14 minutes after the first one.. do you think that is a long time!?
When you say "run" do you mean install or boot your system? If you mean boot and not install; do you have a CD you can install from? If you can install from a CD grap your ISO here (burn and boot): http://www.linuxiso.org/ http://www.mandrakelinux.com/ |
I want to install Mandrake on my hard drive and then boot from the hard drive too. I don't want to use a cd to boot. Which version should I download so I can burn it to a disk and install it on the older computer I want to put on.

I meant boot for installation :)
Do you have a CD to install from? |
yep
Yes I want to download mandrake onto my newer computer, burn a cd-r, and then load it on an older computer.
|
1.
Download an ISO from a mirror here http://www.linuxiso.org/viewmirrors.php/474 2. Burn the image with you favourite CD burning prog, fx Nero. 3. Boot from the CD and follow the instructions on screen. Donīt forget to check your BIOS settings if it wont boot on the CD. |
Thanks
I just want to thank you for taking the time and having the patience to answer my questions.

also become familiar with the mandrake website - it can be handy.
