ok here is the inittab file stuff

it says:

no error but screen flickers or turns on and off before ( post #5)

it flickers and then goes to this console so how i check for errors

well init 2 is multi-user without network support as opposed to
init 3 which is multi-user with network support...i just assumed yours said 3....but in any case both are for booting to the CLI, as opposed to init 5 which is full multi-user with network support and X11....
so just change that :
id:2:initdefault:
to read :
id:5:initdefault:

oh and one more thing....keep your posts in the threads you have existing about the same problems....we were just discussing this in your other thread and then you came and made a new one (which was unnecessary) ...

and as i can see this is getting confusing cause you told me what you did in your other thread....
now...
post the error(s) that are in:
/var/log/xfree86.0.log

sorry ok how i change it and save?

ok i use command
vi to edit how i change it curse does nothing when i move over and try 2 change it
then how i save modified file??
sorry bout the thred thing

press i to start editing. when you're done press ESC. then :w for saving (don't forget the colon) and :q for quitting vi.

error

at bottom it says:

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

i didnt see anything with EE label in list
