Ok A Really Dumb Question about any progs...

ok, I'm totally new to Linux (installed slack today) and at last I got my inet working. I downloaded an Opera Linux version and aMSN, but I don't see a way to execute them ? they just stay in a folder and I've no idea how to start them... that's my stupid question: how do we execute programs .. LOL

Look for the program that is executable - it will have the x attribute if you do an ls -lisa in the directory, and then call it, ie ./applicationName
