Hi everyone.
I was just wondering whether any of you have had any luck installing and running Office XP using wine? I know that the commericial crossover office runs Office XP but i'd like to know if the free version of Wine can also run it.
I went to frankscorner.org (great site for getting wine up and running) and checked out his suggestions on getting Office 2000 to work. I don't have an Office 2000 cd though, but i tried out his suggestions with my Office XP cd. The furthest I can get up to is the installer where its just about to start copying files but then exits saying that the Installation files are corrupted. That can't be, because the cd installs fine on windows.
any suggestions? If you have got it running, could you please post your wine config?

I have not personally ever tried to get it to run with wine (and I wouldnt either, but that's another story).
However, you may want to check out wine's application database entries on Office. It probably contains all information you need. (Check out the comments on the idividual apps)
