Odd VSFTP problem.

I have this odd problem with VSFTP. Whenever a user uploads something, it's CHMODed to something really low, like -rw------
and the owner has to go in and CHMOD it to something accessible. is there a way to fix this?

Try the following :

"su -"
<your root password>
"cd /etc/vsftpd"
"vi vsftpd.conf"

Go the section :

# Default umask for local users is 077. You may wish to change this to 022,
# if your users expect that (022 is used by most other ftpd's)

And make necessary adjustments...

ps. you may have to restart vsftpd with "service vsftpd restart" to make the changes active ....

Good luck!
