odd keyboard behaviour netscape/kde

I'm running Slackware 9.1, KDE 3.1.4, and Netscape as listed below:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Netscape/7.1

Frequently (but not always) pressing the enter key (ie for google search, email hard return, or aim send) will launch items from the desktop, even though what i'm working with is currently highlighted. It will often work in succession, with each subsequent press of the enter key launching the desktop item below the previous.

Needless to say this is highly obnoxious.

Any ideas?

Lol, your problem sound highly amusing and frustrating. It seems likly that you have a faulty mouse or mouse driver. I would suggest getting a new mouse.

Also editing the window behaviour to 'focus follows mouse' seems like a good idea.
