Question Odd behaviour from LIRC /dev/input

Hi

I'm not actually sure of the source of my problem so I figured I'd list it under the primary symptomn: Lirc lags behind in remote button input by one. I'm aware that's very legible so here's a handy table:

Code:
 _____________________________________
| What I press: | What LIRC spits out:|
|_______________|_____________________|
| Up | [Nothing] |
| Down | Up |
| Down | Down |
| Menu | Down |
| Subtitle | Menu |
| Exit | Subtitle |
| OK | Exit |
| etc... |
|_______________|_____________________|
Anyway like I said I don't know where this error is stemming from, I doubt it's actually from LIRC though, as catting /dev/input/event7 (my IR input) into xxd yeilds similar, though substantially less legible, behaviour.

Now LIRC is not using any special drivers, just its dev/input one, so it's probably a problem with Linux's input system, the card's drivers, the card itself, or the remote. (The card is a Compro T300 DVB tuner, with a simple IR reciever plugged into a jack at the back; it's based on the saa7134 chipset.)

Anyway has anyone seen this behaviour before, not necessarily with a remote but any input/event device? And more importantly is there any way to fix it?

I'm an ex-Ubuntu-noob who recently switched over to Fedora 8 x86_64, so keeping things simple would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jarrad Whitaker
