Unhappy Octet-Stream - Stuck in a loop!?*

Hi!
I'm using Suse 9.3.
Every time I open the Control Panel, or other intermittent applications a message comes up stating 'Could not find mime type application/octet-stream'.
I then enter the control panel and reinstate this under 'KDE Components >Applications' where it should be under the 'MSWord' entry.
A little later, or immediately if I attempt to enter the Control Panel again, the same thing happens over and over. At this time I once again look under 'KDE Components >Applications only to find that the 'Octet-Stream' entry is no longer there. So I reinstate it. . . . . . and help I'm stuck in a loop!

Phew! Solved it! I found another instance of 'Octet-Stream' set as a 'filename pattern' under *.x-Java for some unknown reason - I must have done this accidentally at some time earlier. Obviously I deleted it.
I had also omitted to give 'Octet-Stream' a Filename Pattern' name under it's OWN heading - hence *.oct- hence solved! Hence
