nzbperl is eating up my system, is this normal?
Amd K7 Athlon 2.3Ghz
512 RAM
Radeon 9700 pro
WAN/LAN 10mb
Yeah that's my basic system I don't game anymore (got a 360 for that). Anyways I tend to use newsgroups on a daily basis, newsleecher is easily the best client out there, sadly "Windows" only.
I've tried almost "evry" newsreader there is for linux, klibido was my last GUI one. I finally managed to get nzbperl started (hard to install/use) and it's basically eating my CPU/Memory like a pig.
Question: is it normal for a NO GUI client like nzbperl to allocate a lot of RAM when it's encoding/decoding/downloading?
I'm not sure if there's a difference between klibido vs nzbperl feature wise, but klibido (GUI) managed to do the job without taking away tons of RAM.
Though I prefer a NO GUI client over GUI (faster) and that's why I wanna continue using nzbperl.
Anyone?
Thanks
