hello. installed the nvidia linux drivers from nvidia.com and had no troubles so i am nervous as to wether it has worked or not.
** i have the feeling that although the install worked fine, that my integrated onboard graphics
are still being used over my pci-e graphics card.**
how do i check whats being used?
how do i change whats being used?
i have FC3 and a leadtek winfast px6600 gt tdh (nvidia geforce 6600 gt)
and motherboard = msi k8n nforce 4 platinum.
(a dvd on mplayer has slight blurring when theres sharp movement and there are occasion breaks in the screen when theres sharp movement as well)
mmmm. i guess this is a good thing
but why am i not getting superhuman graphics-performance?
where can i 'see' my graphics card in fedora's configuration?
is there no GUI program where i can see the card and make sure fedora is using it?
in /etc/X11/xorg.conf or whatever FC is using you need to change the driver nv to nvidia, uncomment load glx and comment out load dri. you should see an nvidia splash scree when you start x

hah hah thanks. I actually got a nice b-day present from bill gates. i got a new vid card and another gig of ram. the card was a geforce 6800 and when iput it in and booted up into windows it said my hardware had drastically changed since the last time i activated windows so i have to activate it again and then when i go to do that it tells me the copy of windows i was using has already been activated the maximum allowed times. so now i either have to call M$ and pay customer support to get them to let me activate it or reformat with a not legal copy of windows.
Originally posted by Keruskerfürst your nforce 4 motherboard has no onboard graphics.
if this is the case and if my x terminal has been running since i started, even before downloading the nvidia drivers, doesnt this mean that this graphics card can run out of the box with no drivers on FC3?
