NVidia TNT2

Ok, update to my problems....
I *had* a Hercules 3D Prophet 4000XT....
Now I'm trying an NVidia TNT2...

Kudzu found the video adapter, and tried to configure it, but I get this error about the *mouse* config file "Error: Line 5 unexpected." or something to that effect... I don't know if the adapter part of the config finishes, but if I StartX, I get the error "Fatal Error: No Screens Found" which is the same problem I had with the first video adapter... Could it be my monitor? I don't *think* so b/c I've used it many times along time ago...

Someone gimme a hint...?
BTW, it *may* be a problem with the new card, as Windows2000 won't finish loading unless I'm running in "Enable VGA Mode" mode.....

I had the same problem with my install of Slackware 8.0.
In order to fix this, I went into XF86Config and added the following line to the "Monitor" section:

HorizSync 30 - 50

Make sure you enter the correct settings for your monitor. It may just be that your monitor settings are not correct or set at all.

This allowd me to start X with no problems by running startx at a bash prompt.

Hope this helps a little.

Try running xf86config again, then download the nvidia linux drivers and install them *give the install readme a good look*
