Nvidia Logo. It's possible to show?

Recently I updated my debian from Lenny to sqeezy. I'm using nvidia driver, so I reinstalled after debian upgrade. Using driver version 190.53.

3D accel seems to work ok, as I can use some KDE4 features and glxgears to test.
But from passing from Lenny (kde3.5) to Squeezy I lost the Nvidia logo which loaded just before X Server.
I tried setting under the device:

Code:
Option "NoLogo" "False"
Does anybody knows what could cause the logo not to be shown?
Squeezy uses grub2... Could be some interference in framebuffer mode?

Thanks,
Matías

On my Arch system, it shows only very briefly, as in a fraction of a second. You could watch carefully to see if the same applies to your system.

There should be no interferences with framebuffer mode. I suspect that somehow the nvidia driver was not loaded correctly, although 3D acceleration works (as you say). Can you post the contents of /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of glxinfo, just to be sure?

Why not remove the line "Option NoLogo False"?

If you want to see the logo you do not need to specify an option.

NoLogo=False should actually SHOW the logo, but the problem might be simply that the logo shows so briefly or so quickly that it is not apparent on fast hardware.
If you search LQ a little on this subject, you should find at least 2 other threads from the past few months, about the nvidia logo, with some similar discussion to this

PS - RE Trooper's post below, I too haven't seen the nvidia logo in a looooong time; more than a year to be sure.

Sasha

Both of my Debian Testing(Squeeze) boxes don't show the Nvidia logo at boot anymore,so you don't need to worry.
I believe this happens with other distributions as well.

Sasha and The Trooper, thanks for your comments and info.

Code:
~$ glxinfo | grep "direct rendering"
direct rendering: Yes
I'm inclined to think the 3D accel is ok. Really didn't know the logo was gone in actual versions of driver / distribution. I was just missing it

Regards,
Matías

I'd say yes,you have 3D acceleration working.
Another indication that it's working is by installing the mesa-utils package.
Then run the following commands in a terminal:

Code:
glxinfo
Code:
glxgears
These will give more detailed output.
