Nvidia - dual monitor - REALLY small font
Strange situation: I just activated dual monitor (twinview), and all works great except the fonts appear really small. Funny thing is, the text "inside" Firefox seems normal (as I am writing this), but it's menu labels are extremely small. It is system wide, not just restricted to Firefox. If I change back to 1 monitor, fonts appear normally. If I adjust the font size up (with dual monitors) so that I can read them, if I go back to a single monitor, fonts are then "over" sized.
I am just curious if anyone else has had this problem? I did search the forum before asking (as well as google) but not finding my exact problem. At one point I thought it might be due to two different sized screens, but I borrowed my sons flat panel (exactly the same as my acer), and produced the same results. Opensuse 12.2. Nvidia proprietary drivers (not nouveau). Hardware: Nvidia 8600 GT 1 acer 22" flat panel. 1 42" flat screen. This is not a "oh crap I can't believe this just happened" situation, more of a "hmm, thats strange". It's doable, simply by adjusting font sizes as stated above, but can become an annoyance at times when switching from single to dual/to single. Whoops, almost forgot: my mouse is also acting strange. Prior to this, I could roll the wheel and have a nice stroll down a web page. Now I barely touch it, and I go screaming down the page. Any thoughts would be appreciated. |
What is the output of:
xdpyinfo | grep dots In both of the cases? |
Apologies steelneck, been working some crazy hours, first opportunity to reply.
xdpyinfo | grep dots resolution: 52x52 dots per inch That is for the dual. xdpyinfo | grep dots resolution: 52x52 dots per inch This is for single display only. Appears they are both the same. |
