Nvidia Drivers

I got the idea from this thread.
I went to Nvidia's site and downloaded drivers dating
back to Nov 2002 and spent most of the day installing/un-installing and testing the drivers by playing
various games and sizing and re-sizing the glxgears window...........
and for my box I found that the .4496 driver gives me 32% more FPS than the newest driver that Nvidia has to offer.................

Some of you Nvidia users should do the same and see if you can also get better FPS performance for your own box/boxes...........

have fun.

well to tell you the truth i may try what you say ... because i actually am getting
frustated with my card ... i mean i don't have the best card its a GF4 MX440, but i have
seen specs (many many specs) from people that push more that 1000FPS easily,
upwards to 1600 (with this card), and no matter what i do, mine stays steady at
839.400 ... no change...
so i am actually willing to try anything at this point ... i mean all i do is play
Counter-Strike and the performance i get is fine for playing this game, but i have to
use the renice command before gameplay otherwise at some points the fps drops in
the single digits, but i can bare with it .. but it isn't something i should have to bare with
because i should be getting 75+ fps in the game ... i remember back in the day when
i used win98 and my voodoo3 3000 16meg card i had 99fps steady (max for CS)
so i don't think i am asking much to see around 75 heheh
