Please check your font settings, making it that big and bold makes it annoying to read your post. Also please use punctuation and spell out your words, a more readable post will get more attention and better results.

Some questions: Which graphics hardware? Which driver version and how did you install it?

wow fast response and lets agree to disagree making it bold makes it easier on my eyes but thats just me. iv got an nvidia 6700xl graphics card and installed the update which i found from nvidia as an update for my card:NVIDIA-Linux-x86-275.09.07. the problem was when watching any videos on ubuntu all the players i tried kept crashing none would play i found on google that such crashes where caused by compiz cairo dock that having the dock open and playing a video would cause the players to crash (because of something relating to the graphics card) so i upgraded and big mistake obviously. i tried running the program as a executable file which kept closing saying i needed root privileges so i tried through the terminal which said i needed to stop the x server so then i used the other terminal don't no what it is called but i used ctrl alt and f1 i think and stopped the xserver from there got root privileges and then pointed where the nvidia update file was and it installed after the reboot i couldnt get to the desktop which is where i am stuck at now and as listed above i have tried the above methods and have had no luck

I am not that familiar with newer Ubuntu and derivates like the Ultimate Edition, but you should have the possibility to choose the rescue mode in your bootloader. This should start the system without starting X. Now start the NVidia-installer with sudo in front of it to start it with root-privileges. After that generate a new xorg.conf with
Code:
sudo nvidia-xconfig
and restart.

There is a way to uninstall the current nvidia driver that you use.
Code:
sudo command -uninstall
Replace command by what you used to install the driver (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-275.09.07.run ?)

Next you can try to start X
Code:
sudo service gdm start
You should at least be able to get to a desktop now (maybe via recovery mode). Next you can install the driver from the repository and use them using menu system -> administration -> hardware drivers or install the previous driver that you used.
