nVidia Driver Problems

I have the nVidia driver installed but now when I am in gnome-terminal I see black rectangles over the letters I am typing. Sometime they disappear and I can see the letters. When I press enter and run the command I can see the letters perfectly. It only happens when I am typing something. What is this? How can I fix it? Is there something I can tweak in Xorg.conf?

-What is your card
-What is your distribution
-What is your dirver version
-How did you install it
-Do you use desktop effects? If yes, turn them off, if no, enable them, do you see a difference?

This is likely to result from the wrong locale setting, the wrong character translation setting, or wrong installed fonts.

Does this still happen if you revert to the "nv" driver in /etc/X11/xorg.conf?
